On 5 March, from 8 am to 12 noon and from 4 pm to 8 pm, Gothenburg’s Ro/Ro port will be hit by a strike, and from midnight on 5/6 March and onwards the parties in the port dispute warn of full strike and blockade of Swedish ports.
For DSV, road transport via the Gothenburg Ro/Ro port (APMT in Gothenburg is not affected) and Stockholm port will be hit hardest by the conflict, transport via Karlshamn port will also be affected to some degree.
Due to the above situation and previous point strikes, the shipping lines inform us that virtually all work in the Gothenburg Ro/Ro port will grind to a halt from the afternoon of Tuesday, 5 March. Thereafter, there will be very limited opportunities to load, unload and ship goods to and from Gothenburg and UK/Ireland/Gent/Zeebrugge, with very long lead times being while the conflict lasts.
In Stockholm port, with transport to and from Finland and Estonia, and in Karlshamn, with transport to and from Lithuania, the handling of individual trailers will cease from 6 March and for the duration of the strike.
DSV has developed different solutions and alternative routes in order to be able to transport volumes to those countries affected as indicated above, which will be achieved with longer lead times, limited capacity, extra transport costs and according to specific agreement with our traffic controllers.
**Update 5pm: Strike has been called off. More news will follow if anything changes**
